This Easter, why not add a little coastal flair to your home with a festive twist? You can do this by creating your own coastal Easter eggs! Here are two coastal Easter egg decorating tips from the contributors over at Coastal Living Magazine:
1. The Age-old Method
Try the pysanky method of Ukrainian egg decorating. First, use melted beeswax to cover parts of the eggshell in your own special design. Then starting with the lightest shade, dip the egg in various colors of Ukrainian dye. Apply more wax between dying to create intricate patterns like seashells, turtles, beach waves and etc. You should be able to find a kit at most craft stores that has everything you need.
2. A Starry Golden Egg
Have a special prize for the one who finds the golden Easter Egg! Paint your egg gold or blue, then add a touch of light blue and deep-turquoise sea glass to make it shine. Wrap it with a ribbon or glue on a starfish; make the design your own.
Need a special basket for displaying your fabulous coastal egg creations? Cottage & Bungalow’s Sweetgrass Big Handle Basket will be the perfect decorative piece for showing off those beautiful eggs.
Have a Happy Easter!
