Spring is a great time to host a party, formal or informal, and festive seasonal parties are one of the many perks of coastal living. Just like your wardrobe and home accents change from season to season, your table top should also reflect the season you’re in. For spring, that means color! Coastal Living shared some wonderful tips on setting a coastal table. Here are a few of our favorite suggestions.
Solid linens in neutral tones let your dinnerware and floral arrangements stand out.
With a neutral colored tablecloth, think about coastal colors for the tableware—aqua, pale blue, light yellow and ivory all compliment a coastal design.
Colorful trays and wine buckets add a whimsical touch to your dinner parties and lunches.
Sea shells and sea glass for place markers and centerpieces work quite well with both a coastal and a spring theme.
If you’re feeling really creative, try incorporating some driftwood into the centerpiece with simple white flowers and blown glass vases; each of these elements are reminiscent of the ocean without being too literal.
Lastly, make sure all of your hard work is displayed properly. Whether you’re hosting a casual lunch with family or a formal dinner, using the proper etiquette in your place settings creates a sense of refinement.
