A few weeks ago, we visited the High Point Market to check out the latest design trends in home furnishings and decorations. We highlighted four trends to look out for, and today we want to focus on one in particular — texture.
From woven rope decorative accents to glassy shells, texture was everywhere. There was even faux shagreen, or the replication of animal skin on vinyl, on a lot of pieces. Shagreen could be found on accent tables, trays, decorative boxes, mirrors and more. The whole show was a tactile experience simply begging you to “touch” it! Below are a few of our favorite textured pieces from the market!
This beaded frame creates eye-catching dimension with just a touch of sparkle. Play around with unexpected texture to introduce this look to your home.
Shell is a textured item perfect for your beach home. It’s a classic and elegant accent and is quite prevalent in coastal decor.
In this piece, woven rope in a checkered pattern creates a rough, rustic look that reminds us of woven baskets.
Barnacles are bothersome in the ocean, but captivating as a design element! A variety of sizes clustered together make for striking accents.
Driftwood is a stately and interestingly textured item to consider for your home. With a huge range of sizes, shapes and colors, you’re sure to find the perfect piece for your coastal home.
We’ll blog about more trends from the High Point Market soon. Visit us at Cottage & Bungalow for more coastal decor ideas today.
