After a few years of bright, cheerful selections for the annual Color of the Year, the Pantone Color Institute has settled on a color for 2013 that creates a sense of balance and harmony, and one that couldn’t be more perfect for the holidays – Emerald.
Emerald is described by Pantone as “a vivid, verdant green” that “enhances our sense of well-being further by inspiring insight, as well as promoting balance and harmony.” Leatrice Eiseman, the executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, spoke of these qualities that Emerald, noting their importance in the world today and that Emerald has the ability to be “a powerful and universally appealing tone” that works will in home interiors.
